Alan Pardew has been granted a stay of execution despite a fifth successive league defeat for West Bromwich Albion. A combination of an improved performance at Watford and, crucially, the absence of any credible alternatives to take over as the manager means Pardew will remain in charge for Leicester City’s visit on Saturday.
