Serge Aurier’s slice of luck helps Spurs to victory over Brighton and into top four
Tottenham Hotspur clawed their way back into the top four with a determined win over a dogged Brighton, the match ultimately determined by a wonderful fluke from Serge Aurier.
Brighton made five changes going into the match as they attempted to arrest a run of five matches without a win. Tomer Hemed made his first start since September and Pascal Gross dropped to the bench. Spurs, meanwhile, made four changes to the side that trounced Stoke on Saturday, freshening up at full back and giving Erik Lamela his first start since October 2016.
