Ajax sack coach Marcel Keizer and assistant Dennis Bergkamp after Cup exit

• Dutch side make surprise decision following defeat to FC Twente
• Keizer took over from Peter Bosz in the summer

Ajax have announced the sacking of coach Marcel Keizer and his assistants Hennie Spijkerman and Dennis Bergkamp.

Keizer, who replaced Peter Bosz as manager in the summer when he left to join Borussia Dortmund, has taken Ajax to second in the Eredivisie but saw them knocked out of the Dutch Cup on penalties by FC Twente on Wednesday having previously lost out in the preliminary rounds of both the Champions League and Europa League.
