Swansea’s manager Paul Clement is confident the owners are supportive

• ‘They are not the sort of people to be bullied into making a decision’
• Swans face lowly Bournemouth after six league defeats from seven

Paul Clement is confident his job is not on the line when Swansea City take on Bournemouth at home on Saturday and adamant the Welsh club’s board remain firmly behind him despite growing relegation fears after losing six of their past seven Premier League matches.

That awful run, combined with the fact that Tony Pulis became the fifth Premier League manager to lose his job this season when West Bromwich sacked him on Monday, has shifted the spotlight on to Swansea’s plight and Clement’s position in particular. Clement, however, insisted his discussions with Steve Kaplan and Jason Levien, the club’s majority shareholders, remained “positive” and also stated his belief that they were not the sort of people to be “bullied” into making a decision because of fans or media.
