Cristiano Ronaldo strikes again for Portugal to send Morocco out

Portugal have won for the first time at the 2018 World Cup, following up their 3-3 draw with Spain by beating Morocco 1-0 at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow. Morocco, who lost their opening match 1-0 to Iran, have been eliminated with a match to go, regardless of what happens in the later Group B game between Spain and Iran in Kazan.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored a hat-trick against Spain, put Portugal 1-0 up inside four minutes, escaping his marker to head home a corner. This proved enough for a half-time lead.
