Jason Puncheon denies assaulting nightclub bouncer with belt

• Crystal Palace midfielder to stand trial in June over alleged incident
• Appeared in court on crutches after cruciate knee ligament injury

The Crystal Palace club captain Jason Puncheon is to stand trial for allegedly assaulting a nightclub doorman with his belt.

Puncheon appeared at Guildford Magistrates’ Court in connection with the incident in Church Street, Reigate, Surrey, in the early hours of 17 December.
